One way the Bay Association covenants to support congregations and persons preparing for ministry in the United Church of Christ is through Minister-in-Training grants. Funded solely by offerings received at ordinations and installations, congregations are assisted in providing needed field education internships for seminarians in parish and specialized ministries.
For the upcoming 2008-09 school year, the Bay Association will provide a limited number of grants to congregations. These grants may be up to one-half of the minimum stipend amount suggested by the PSR Office of Field Education. Official grant guidelines, application procedures and forms can be downloaded from the Resources section of the Bay Association’s website: www.bayassociation.org.
The deadline for completed applications has been extended to April 1, 2008. The Executive Board of the Bay Association will review all applications and give notice of grants awarded by June 30, 2008.
